Chaput on how one can vote for Obama

June 10th, 2008 by Chris

Here’s Archbishop Chaput explaining how one must think if one is about to cast a vote for abortion Obama:

Archbishop Charles Chaput of Denver writes that a Catholic voter would “need a compelling, proportionate reason to justify it. … It’s the kind of reason we will be able to explain, with a clean heart, to the victims of abortion when we meet them face to face in the next life — which we most certainly will. If we’re confident that these victims will accept our motives as something more than an alibi, then we can proceed.”

It’ll be easy to vote for Obama; I look forward to casting my vote for him Nov. 4, as all Catholics should.

Obama wants to increase green-energy sources, which is good news for Americans (more jobs) and Earth (less polution).

Far too often our fellow Catholics get scared and/or skeptical of global warming because it’s most often (sadly) a liberal/Democratic cause. Well, we all know Jesus was a liberal. Also, the Church teaches that everything God created was beautiful and that we should take care of it. Well, God created Earth, and to keep ignoring global warming by supporting environmental and economic policies that pollute the earth and well-being of Americans is the most serious of all mortal sins.

Bush, however pious he may seem to be, has done nothing but destroy morale AND morals in the country. He’s not looking out for his neighbors, as Jesus taught; he’s busy lining the pockets of his fat-cat oil cronies. Tax breaks for the rich and suffering for the poor? That is not true Catholic teaching. That is a grave, moral sin. Unfortunately, a true American hero like John McCain wants to follow the same path of destruction for American families and morals.

No, killing innocent babies is not acceptable. But neither is sacrificing thousands of young Americans in the greed-driven pursuit of oil and imperialism. Starving, militia-plagued countries in African need our help more than Iraq.

Make the Catholic choice: VOTE OBAMA!

YES WE CAN! YES WE CAN! YES WE CAN!

Wow, a drive-by Obamamaniac post on my very own blog. I feel so…dirty…

    Ok, let’s go:
Obama wants to increase green energy sources: can you give me any specific plans of his? I haven’t heard any. Just that he wants to. I want to be a millionaire someday. If I don’t have a plan on how to accomplish this, then it ain’t gonna happen.
(no truth to this more jobs for Americans aspect either…those CFLs for example are all made in China.)

Jesus was a liberal? Please tell me where Jesus advocated the government taking up all the money and redistributing it. I can’t find that in my Bible. As for the planet, do you think that God would really allow us to destroy it? And since you actually believe the global warming nonsense, can you explain to me how we are supposed to reduce the temperature of the sun? That’s the source of the heat. And also, if we are experiencing global warming, why is it that our average temps on the planet haven’t changed for 10 years? And a mere 30 years ago you libs were screaming about how global cooling was sending us into a new ice age? You’re seriously behind the times…it’s called “climate change” now, not “global warming.” Hard to sell “global warming” when the current stats are not showing any warming trend.

Lining the pockets of fat cat oil cronies? According to the stats, the oil companies still make 9 cents profit on every gallon of gas. Government makes at least 45 cents on every gallon. Tax breaks for the rich? Well, you can’t give a tax break to a poor person, they don’t pay any taxes…or if they’re in a low bracket like me, they still pay lower taxes than under your beloved President Clinton. What you call tax breaks are in reality incentives for the high achievers in our society to continue to innovate and develop new and better technologies to improve all our lives and our economy.

I agree, McCain is a weak conservative…but he’s less intrinsically evil than Obama. In order for Bush to be as immoral as Obama, he’d have to be seeing to it that innocent (and I underscore innocent) Iraqis were dying at a rate of 3000 per day. Ain’t happening. Greed driven pursuit of oil? If we had gone into Iraq to steal their oil, then it wouldn’t be $4 a gallon right now. We clearly aren’t using their oil to line our own pockets. I thought you libs had given up on the war for oil nonsense since it’s clear that we aren’t getting any oil benefit from Iraq.

Just remember, when you face all the aborted babies in heaven, you better be able to explain to them why their lives were worth your vote for a beyond-evil man who makes you feel good and who spews the lines that you so dutifully recite here. Yes we can do what? That’s what I wanna know. What can we do? I know we can, I just want to know what it is we can do? Destroy this country economically? Abort ourselves out of existence? Allow ourselves to be surpassed by the likes of China because we’re too scared to drill a hole in the ground?
