I enjoyed reading your story on CC. Thank you for writing it. You made a very important point that I think many will value. That is the cradle Catholic perspective of not having a date for a “ajcithatplas” moment! Like you said it is an ongoing experience for Catholics from baptism. Another reason is that the Mass is the daily expression of offering up the sacrifice, which can only be comprehended by someone who is in a continual state of ajcithatplas

Thanks for sharing your story, I have a follow up question (if that’s okay).
You and your wife went off the contraceptive pill for fairly pragmatic reasons – what are your (and her) views on them now?

Good question, Fidens. We started looking for alternatives to the pill because of her adverse reactions to them; in that process we learned a deeper understanding of the Church’s teaching on the subject. The CCL materials explain the how-to as well as the why-to…and the last thing I want to be is a cafeteria Catholic. So we came to believe that the Church has this one right (imagine that!)
